Type Locality and Naming

Along the Dzhalbakhan River, south-west slope of the Chatkalsky range. S.V. Litovchak, K.V. Seliverstov, et al., 1985.

Synonym: Dzhalbacan Suite, Джалбаканская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestones, often organogenic, partially "sugary" dolomites, sandstones are noted only at the base. Thickness from 100 to 350 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

The lower boundary is conformable with the red-colored sandstones of the Airmin Fm of the Frasnian-Lower Famennian

Upper contact

The upper boundary is conformable, but possibly with a hidden stratigraphic break with the Sairam Fm

Regional extent

South and south-west slope of the Chatkalsky range.
